This week, Prof Dr Josep Grau-Bove, the UCL CoDirector of GreenHer paid our partner institutions a visit, specifically the Department of Archaeology of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana, the Slovenian National Buidlings and Civil Engineering Institute and the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia.
We were generously hosted by colleagues at Morostig, within the UNESCO Prehistoric Pile-dwellings site at Ljubljana marshes. This was to learn more about the archaeological layers and narratives to feature in the associated GreenHer Living Lab. At ZAG, we explored the world-class materials and construction laboratories and at ZVKDS, we explored the challenges related to the planned GreenHer XR Lab – an immersive research and engagement laboratory for multisensory communication to be built on their site.
The discussions led to a number of potential project ideas to be developed between GreenHer and its partner units and UCL in the near future, as well as helped us crystallise the contributions that the team at the UCL Institute for Sutatinable Heritage and the nwider UCL community will bring to our collaborative efforts.
